Door to door pickup seams so convenient when should I opt for a central pickup?   Door to door pickup is definitely very convenient and most often you will not incur extra charges.  You will most likely be charged extra for the door-to-door pickup and drop off when you live in very rural location that makes it exceedingly difficult for large sized vehicles, such as a transporter trucks to reach you.  In such an instance, you are best off opting for a more central location for pickup. Also, if you live in a private community, commercial vehicles will not be allowed in, therefore you should arrange ahead of time for a more central location.
3.  Should I use an open or enclosed vehicle transporter?   If you own an average mid-size car, then you should use and open vehicle transporter.  They can fit so many more vehicles at once and therefore be able to offer you a much lower price. This is the most popular method of transport.  An enclosed vehicle transporter is recommended when the car that is being transported is an antique car, a very high end car, an oversized car or a car that is no longer working.  If your car does not fall into one of the categories just mentioned than you should make use of an open car transporter.    
4. Does my current car insurance policy cover for the transport?   Your regular car insurance policy will not give you sufficient coverage while your car is being transported.  Make sure to hire a car transport company that has an updated and sufficient policy to cover your vehicle should the unexpected occur. Don’t just rely on their word, ask for a copy of the insurance policy so that you confirm that it is up to date and legitimate.   
5. How should I prepare my car for the auto transport?          To prepare your car properly for the transport, your gas tank should be ¼ of the way full.  This will be enough gas to move your vehicle on an off of the vehicle transporter.  You don’t want to have a full tank, as this can lead to your car being overweight and then you can expect extra charges.  Also, in case of a collision a car that is full gas will be very dangerous, so fill your car’s tank ¼ of the way.  Before the transport you should make sure to inspect the exterior of your car and even take pictures.  You want to document exactly the way your car was prior to the transport, in case of unforeseen damage during the shipping process..
